Westerwald Kennel’s much anticipated training and dog selection for the year of 2025 will start on 24 March 2025 extending for 3 weeks. It’s another round of exciting yet ardous trail of training, workshops and dog selectiong activities. It’s an excellent opportunity for us to enhance our training techniques to meet world class standards in developing strong and stable working dogs.
We will also be attending working dog competitions in Europe where some of the best dogs will be staged for fierce battle in FCI IGP championships. High energy environment with strong comradeship that can be seen between man and dog.

We will be visiting top kennels in Germany and Czech Republic to select dogs and puppies suited for service and as pets. This will be part of our yearly ritual to source interesting bloodlines from legendary East German border patrol DDR dogs to recent US Navy Seal Operations which we will put up in our website during our trainings in Europe. This will be the golden opportunity for clients to own dogs from last lines of these prestigious and rare bloodliness as some of these traditional breeders are and have retired from active breeding. As we will be flying back with these dogs, owners can enjoy the savings in air freight. Apart from that, breeders too can take advantage by considering imported in dams. (1) Dog Sports Protection
We got started with the taughest version in protection work which is for IPO and IGP. It’s not only about getting the right moves but also to activate the dog to make the right moves through deep intuition and experience in this line of work.
(2) Police Dog Protection
This work is not meant for all as the dogs are trained to attack at any moment or needs to be trained to attack at any moment. Some of the atatck work needs strong and clear co-ordination between handler, dog and decoy.
